摘要
Characteristics and fabrication of carbon-doped anatase titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysts, prepared by the annealing of titanium carbide powders, were analyzed. Decomposition rates of the methylene blue (MB) were evaluated to analyze the photocatalytic activity of the samples. It was observed that absorption edge of the carbon-doped anatase titanium dioxide shifted to a lower energy compared with pure anatase TiO2. It was concluded that substitution of carbon for oxygen in the titatnium dioxide leads to a photocatalytic decomposition of the MB.
