Surface second order optical nonlinearity of titanium dioxide sized in nanometer range

摘要
The nanoparticles of a centrosymmetric material titanium dioxide (TiO2) have been synthesied and characterized by hyperRayleigh scattering (HRS) technique. The particles with mean diameter of 10 nm have large first order hyperpolarizability in solution, which arise from the surface layer of the particles.
