摘要：

This article discusses some of the mechanisms involved in the causal relation between obesity and hypertension. Obesity causes a constellation of maladaptive disorders that individually and synergistically contribute to hypertension among other cardiovascular morbidities. Well-designed population-based studies are needed to assess the individual contribution of each of these disorders to the development of hypertension. The article also discusses the current management of this problem.
