Thrombosis of the portal venous system is most commonly seen secondary to hepatocellular carcinoma, other abdominal malignancies, and less commonly related to inflammation, cirrhosis, coagulopathy, or connective tissue disorders. We report the case of a 58-year-old woman with right portal vein thrombosis (PVT) secondary to cholecystitis and the computed tomography (CT), ultrasound (US), colour Doppler imaging (CDI) and power Doppler imaging (PDI) findings.
