摘要
The multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar system with colocated antennas has the ability to transmit multiple probing signals through its antennas and may be correlated or uncorrelated with each other, unlike a standard phase-array radar that transmits scaled versions of a single waveform. The MIMO radar's waveform diversity enables superior capabilities in several fundamental aspects compared with a standard phased-array radar. These includes significant improved parameter identifiability, direct applicability of adaptive arrays for target detection and parameter estimation and lastly much improved flexibility for transmit beam pattern design. The following capabilities obtained believe to help both academia and government agency and industry, as well.
