On the Barkhausen volume in ultrathin magnetic films with perpendicular anisotropy

摘要
Magnetic aftereffect studies as well as in-situ domain observation are performed on gamma-Fe/Cu(001) films, providing the Barkhausen volume values for these samples. On the basis of comparative STM studies we propose the structural origin of the Barkhausen volume to be related to the atomic terraces of the Cu(001) substrate.
