摘要：

In this note the leptonic contribution to the running of the electromagnetic coupling constant is discussed up to the three-loop level. Special emphasis is put on the evaluation of the double-bubble diagrams. The new term obtained is two orders of magnitude smaller than the hadronic uncertainty. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
