摘要
Adhesion of wet surfaces to one another through a water him is common and important for a variety of problems. The nature of this adhesion is explored through a simple model of a grooved polyethylene surface adhering to ice. The effects of contact angle and geometry are included. A set of experiments was performed to show how contact area and adhesive force vary with water tension for glass on porous ceramic. The results show that the model describes the general characteristics of the adhesion but further experiments are necessary for materials of particular interest.
