Distributed learning environments

The role of distributed learning environments (DLE) in professional and academic settings is discussed. DLEs feature a simple interface that lets students easily navigate various components and reduces the need to learn interfaces styles and commands. They include software support for student registration, testing, grading and other administrative activities. The advantages of DLE include convenience, flexibility, currency of material, possibilities for lowering costs and individual learning.
