摘要
We have applied the Kerr effect technique to a five-component w/o microemulsion in order to determine the evolution of the shape of water droplets dispersed in dodecane. The analysis is made in terms of the fraction in volume of the droplets with respect to the microemulsion. The adopted model leads to the conclusion that, as the proportion of water in the droplets increases, their shape changes from an almost spherical one to a prolate ellipsoid. We have been able to estimate the mean volume of the dispersed droplets, verifying that it increases uniformly with the decrease of alcohol in the microemulsion.
