Blue-light emission at room temperature from Ar+-irradiated SrTiO3

摘要
The emission of blue-light at room temperature from Ar+- irradiated SrTiO3 (STO), is studied. An Ar+ beam accelerated at 300 V at 3 ml min-1 was irradiated at room temperature following an ordinary milling procedure. It is observed that the oxygen deficiency in STO causes the blue-light photoluminescence at room temperature. It is also emphasized that the region of the blue-light emission could be patterned into any size and shape by local engineering of oxygen vacancies in STO.
