Temperature dependence of local chain dynamics in atactic polypropylene: a neutron spin-echo study

摘要
We report a neutron spin-echo (NSE) study of deuterated atactic polypropylene (aPP) using the multi-detector option on the spectrometer IN11 at the Institut Laue-Langevin (France). Experiments were performed in the temperature range 300-360 K i.e. above the polymer glass transition (T-g = 253 K). Neutron spectra were collected in the e-region (0.8 < Q 1.2 Angstrom (-1)) around the first interference peak of the static structure factor S(Q) at 1.1 Angstrom (-1) which corresponds to intermolecular correlations. As shown recently for polyisobutylene and polybutadiene, the NSE data of aPP display the same temperature dependence as obtained from viscosity measurements. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
