摘要
The design of a uniform resource identifier (URI) for improving both scalability and usability in naming replicated resources on the web was proposed. Uniform resource name (URN) was resolved into access information of URL to access the resource identified by URN. The human friendly naming (HFN)-to-URL resolution mechanism pays specific attention to two scalability issues, supporting a large number of resources and supporting resources distributed over a large geographical area. The effects of pointer cache systems were investigated by conducting simulation results. The simulations confirmed that lookup length decreases with the increasing number of lookup operations thus lightening the load on the tree's higher nodes.
