摘要
Guiding principles representing initial strategies to aid in the development of principle driven multimodal interface design are discussed. In multimodal systems, guiding principles can be used to direct the design of information presented to users for integrating multiple modalities and to support multiple user inputs. It is suggested that the multimodal interfaces should adapt to the needs and abilities of different users and different contexts of use. Dynamic adaptivity enables the interface to degrade by leveraging complementary and supplementary modalities according to changes in task and context.
