摘要：

Range is the most often cited drawback of electric vehicles. By adding a battery pack, motor and generator to a gasoline engine, and using a power split device to direct the flow energy, Toyota's Prius has put hybrid electric vehicles on the map. Hybrids bridge the gaps between range and environmental concerns, and today's gasoline automobiles and tomorrow's all-electric vehicles.
