摘要
The effects of abscisic acid (ABA) and S-3307 (uniconazole) on the drought resistance of turfgrass were studied. Carpetgrass, Tifdwarf and Tifway bermudagrass were subjected to drought stress by withholding water, after spraying ABA and S-3307 solutions, and the relative water contents (RWC) were measured. ABA and S-3307 increased RWC of the three grasses, indicating increased drought resistance. The effects of ABA (5 mg 1(-1)) and S-3307 (10 mg 1(-1)) on the antioxidant enzymes were further determined under drought stress. The results showed increased activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and peroxidase (POD) after ABA treatment and these were maintained at higher levels in ABA-treated plants during drought stress. Activities of SOD and CAT were unaffected by S-3307, but higher POD activity was shown in S-3307-treated plants during drought stress.
