摘要
The LSA (Large Southern Array) is a European proposal for a large millimeter/submillimeter interferometer. The current concept is that of a joint US-European project consisting in a 7000 m(2) array made of 64 12-m antennas operating between 70 and 900 GHz. Baselines length up to 10 km, providing 0.01 " resolution, are foreseen. The LSA concept and operating context has evolved quickly in the past 3 years. I describe here part of this evolution, with some emphasis on the particular points in which the European approach differs from the NRAO approach on the MMA.
