On transformation pathways of general stress controlled thermoelastic martensitic transformation in shape memory alloys

摘要
The progress of thermoelastic martensitic transformation/MT/ in Cu-Al-Zn-Mn shape memory alloy/SMA/ polycrystals subjected to nonproportional thermomechanical loadings was investigated by combined tension and torsion of tubular specimens (T much greater than A(f)). The strain response of SMA polycrystal to various thefmomechanical loadings along prescribed stress-temperature paths was examined. It has been shown that the SMA polycrystal can be loaded - unloaded repeatedly by the change of temperature and general combination of external forces of axial load and torque with relatively well defined, path dependent but well reproducible strain path response.
