摘要
Potentiodynamic polarization was used to investigate the effect of acrolein (formed from propargyl alcohol via acid-induced isomerization) on the electrode processes at Armco iron in hydrochloric and sulfuric acid solutions. In solutions of mineral acids, acrolein is ineffective and inferior to propargyl alcohol in the inhibition of iron corrosion. It was found that acrolein can be cathodically reduced during the corrosion process, whereas the isomerization of propargyl alcohol into acrolein should reduce the protective effect of the inhibitor.
