The ac impedance of electrochemical lithium intercalation into graphite was studied using a symmetrical cell configuration that utilizes two almost identical graphite electrodes. This unique setup gave highly reproducible data that corresponded well to the simple equivalent circuit often used to describe this electrochemical intercalation process.
