摘要
The biosynthesis of protein metallocenters was discussed. In this regard, the reversible metal ion binding mechanism of metalloproteins were presented. It was observed that the metal binding to a biological ligand occurs by reversible thermodynamic control. The role of metallochaperones in delivering the metal of interest to an apoprotein for metal binding was also discussed.
