Effect of the temperature of molten magnesium on the thermal explosion synthesis reaction of Al-Ti-C system for fabricating TiC/Mg composite

摘要
The study of thermal explosion synthesis (TES) reaction for the fabrication of metallic matrix composites of TiC/Mg was presented. In respect with it, the effect of molten magnesium (Mg) temperature on the TES reaction of Al-Ti-C system was investigated. The high temperature of molten Mg was observed to bring thermodynamic stability in TiC particulate during the TES reaction.
