Ferroelectric behavior in poly(β-propiolactone)

摘要
Ferroelectric behavior in semicrystalline poly(beta-propiolactone) was found. Remanent polarization and coercive field obtained from the D-E curve at 45 degrees C were 90 mC/m(2) and 45 MV/m, respectively. The pyroelectric constant (about 20 mC/m(2) K) was stable at almost the melting point. Whereas the crystal structures previously reported in this polymer are non-polar, they can be transformed into a polar ferroelectric structure by an external electric field.
