摘要：
Telesurgery is a new branch of medicine concerned with the integration of multimedia, telecommunications, and robotic technologies to provide surgical care at a distance. Some of the progress made in applying telesurgical technologies to urology are reviewed. Some of the technical and legal hurdles yet to be surmounted and new frontiers are explored.
