Novel anthracene-core molecule for the development of efficient PCBM-Based solar cells

摘要
The synthesis of diarylanthracene bearing two dihexyloxy substituted benzene rings were presented for its use as donor material for the realization of PCBM based heterojunction solar cells. The presence of hexyloxy chains in the molecule imparted a high solubility in the most common organic solvents and improved its dispersion in PCBM for the preparation of bulk heterojunctions solar cells. The photovoltaic properties were tested through a device fabricated with the structure of indium tin oxide/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene/ ply(styrene sulfonate)/active layer/LiF/Al under a halogen tungsten lamp with an intensity of 41 mW/cm2. Higher efficiencies have been obtained with some of these materials when used in bilayer cells.
