Influence of entanglements on crystallization of macromolecules

摘要
Single- and pauci-chain collective particles were prepared by a freeze-drying method from dilute solutions of isotactic polystyrene in benzene. Thermal analysis revealed that the collective particles crystallize much faster that bulk polymer, which can be attributed to much fewer interchain entanglements within and between particles, thus proving experimentally that entanglements are a barrier to the crystallization of polymers.
