Nature 397, 176–180 (1999) Typographical errors in Table 1 caused the transposition of some numbers between the H. pylori 26695 and J99 columns. The affected rows should read as follows. vacA genotype: 26695, sla/ml; J99, slb/ml Functionally classified ORFs: 26695, 895; J99, 874 Conserved with no function ORFs: 26695, 290; J99, 275
