摘要：

1,3-Bis(5'-methyl-2,2'-bipyrid-5-yl)propane (3) can be synthesized by a two-step procedure starting from 3-picoline (1), In a spontaneous self-assembly process 3 forms the binuclear triple-stranded meso-helicate [(3)(3)Fe-2][PF6](4) on addition of iron(II) salts. The (Lambda,Delta) structure can be shown by symmetry considerations based on NMR spectroscopy and is due to the conformational restrictions of the [CH2](3) spacer.
