Thermodynamic properties of {xCH3OH+(1-x)H2O} with x = (1.0000 and 0.4993) in the temperature range from 320 K to 420 K at pressures up to 200 MPa

Measurements of (p, rho, T) for {xCH(3)OH + (1 - x)H2O} with x = (1.0000 and 0.4993) at specified temperatures and pressures in the compressed liquid phase were carried out with a metal-bellows variable volumometer along six isotherms between T = 320 K and T = 420 K at pressures from the bubble point pressure to p = 200 MPa. The results cover the high-density region from rho = 884 kg.m(-3) to rho = 651 kg.m(-3) for x = 1.0000, and from rho = 948 kg.m(-3) to rho = 755 kg.m(-3) for x = 0.4993. The experimental uncertainties in temperature T, pressure p, density rho, and mole fraction x were estimated to be less than +/-3 mK, +/-1.0.10(-3).p, +/-1.0.10(-3).rho, and +/-1.0.10(-3).x, respectively. Measurements of vapour pressure, bubble point pressure, and saturated liquid density at temperatures from 320 K to 420 K are also reported. On the basis of the present results, the excess molar volumes for (0.4993CH(3)OH + 0.5007H(2)O) were calculated and are tabulated as a function of temperature and pressure. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
