摘要
A full analytic treatment of the Hall-Petch-like size-effect in multilayers must account for anomalous stress-concentration, dislocation source characteristics, and a variable dislocation pinning stress. From scaling arguments, the criteria for such an equation are described, and an approximate analytic formula is suggested that meets these criteria. (C) 2003 Acta Materialia Inc.
