Carbinolamides were prepared by treatment of aldehydes with carboxamides in the presence of dicyclohexylboron chloride and triethylamine. All carbinolamide products were stable to isolation, purification and routine handling. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
