:
9-(3,5-Dihydroxyphenyl)acridine (3) forms a 1:1 benzene adduct 3-(benzene) having a novel O-H . . .O-H . . .N hydrogen-bonded 2D network. Partial (50%) guest desorption occurs in a reversible manner without undergoing a phase change.
