Electromagnetically induced transparency in an ideal plasma

摘要
A process analogous to electromagnetically induced transparency in atoms is described for an ideal plasma; Two electromagnetic fields whose frequency difference is near, but not equal, to the plasma frequency will drive a longitudinal plasma oscillation whose contribution to the current density opposes the current density produced by either held, if alone. This creates a passband at frequencies which would otherwise be below cutoff.
