摘要
Techno-economic data on emission reduction technologies and their validation are an important basis for the derivation of cost-efficient international reduction strategies for air pollutants through Integrated Assessment Models like RAINS. However, there is often a lack of transparency with regard to data quality and origin. This paper discusses a methodological approach which can be applied to derive and classify the techno-economic information needed on emission abatement options. It further illustrates how such data have been implemented in the techno-economic database ECODAT, that has been developed as support of the RAINS databases, and as a publicly available tool allowing to trace and also evaluate data on emission control technologies in various industry sectors. These data can then be used for further modelling. © 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
