(Fe,Mn)Si: Transitions from a magnetic to a nonmagnetic state and from metallic to semiconducting behaviour

摘要
The pseudobinary series (FexMn1-x)Si shows a transition from an insulator for x = 1 to a metallic state with long range magnetic order at the Mn-rich side. This behaviour can be attributed to the shift of the Fermi energy across a narrow gap into a region of high density of states.
