摘要
The pig has proven to be a valuable model for biomedical research. Physiologic, anatomic, and pathologic similarities between pigs and humans create numerous research applications using the pig. Recent changes in the pork industry have created the need for research with direct applications to commercial pork production. The pig is a valuable research resource and will continue to be important in various research programs.
