摘要
As the concluding article in a two-part special issue, this essay comments on the changes, both impending and possible, in the delivery of U.S. federal government information. The author recommends that the Government Printing Office be dissolved and that the Superintendent of Documents and the Federal Depository Library Program be made the responsibility of the Library of Congress. The author further recommends that libraries need to consider the centrality of government information and information technology and make the necessary budget reallocations to accommodate that vision. If that vision is embraced, the author sees a bright future for the dissemination of and access to U.S. government information.
