摘要
Herpes simplex virus (HSV) types I and 2 are ubiquitous organisms that cause infections in human populations throughout the world. The clinical manifestations of HSV infections are varied, ranging from asymptomatic disease to life-threatening illness in neonates and immunocompromised hosts. This article will review the common presentations for HSV disease and the current recommendations for the treatment of these infections. A detailed summary of the antiviral drugs used to treat HSV infections is also presented. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
