摘要
Photo-induced second harmonic generation was found in BiB3O6 (BiBO) glass fibers with diameters 0.7-1.9 mm. We have revealed that maximum of the output second-order optical susceptibility is achieved for the fibers having diameters about 1.1 mm. We have used a pulsed 3.5 MW nitrogen laser (lambda = 337 nm; tau = 50 ps) as a source of photo-inducing laser beam. Fundamental (probing) laser beam was generated by pulsed Nd:YAG laser (lambda = 1.06 mum; tau = 25 ps). Maximal value of the effective photo-induced second-order non-linear optical susceptibility d(eff) was equal to about 1.5 pm/V. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
