Width of the 12O ground state

The width of the O-12 ground state is calculated, using R-matrix formulas for one-proton sequential decay through the ground state of N-11 to the C-10 ground state. From simple models for the O-12 and N-11 states, upper limits are placed on the reduced widths for the two decays, giving an upper limit on the O-12 width that is less than about 100 keV. It is suggested that the available experimental data may not be inconsistent with this limit. [S0556-2813(99)00501-4].
