摘要
This paper explores partisan political humor from two perspectives. First, the superiority theory of humor is reviewed as partial explanation of the attraction to political humor. Second, a pilot study of the theory is reported. Twenty-four subjects who identified themselves as either Republicans or Democrats responded to an author-developed test of political humor related to the 1992 United States presidential election. Overall results support the contention that group members prefer humor that parodies the alternate group.
