摘要
Complexes between a macrocylic tetraamide and dicarbonyl substrates have been used to investigate the interaction of functional groups with the face of an aromatic ring; amide NH groups directed towards the pi-electron density an the face of the ring produce a substantial increase in binding energy in chloroform which suggests that pi-facial H-bonds can be important in molecular recognition.
