Low loss polymer waveguides at 1300 and 1550 nm using halogenated acrylates

摘要
Low loss polymer waveguides and waveguide devices are fabricated by injection moulding of PMMA substrates and by using a new waveguide core polymer system: PFPMA/TeCEA. This system is highly transparent in the IR, and compatible with PMMA. Waveguide transmission loss figures of 0.2dB/cm at 1300 nm and 0.7dB/cm at 1550nm have been achieved.
