摘要：

We report two cases of malposition of percutaneous central venous catheters into the left ascending lumbar vein. The level of awareness amongst clinicians of this potentially fatal complication appears to be low. Conclusion:The recognition of unusual patterns of contrast medium dispersal is important in the diagnosis of catheter malposition.
