摘要：

In this paper the so called Point Diffusion Techinque is introduced. It allows to quickly evaluate the similarity between two figures defined by "clouds" of points. The new technique is compared wit widespread modal matching approaches, showing similar results with respect to the efficiency of the queries in an image database, and using sensibly less cpu-time.
