Optical bistability in a passive erbium-doped fibre ring resonator

摘要
An erbium doped fibre ring resonator is formed to act as a bistable device. The optical bistability of the nearly pure-absorptive case is experimentally observed with this system using a low-power semiconductor DFB laser. Theoretical simulation shows very good agreement.
