Fuzzy random reliability of structures based on fuzzy random variables

Using fuzzy random variables as basic variables, the relationship between fuzzy random variables and fuzzy random events is established in this paper. Formulas of measures of a fuzzy random event and its alpha-cut set are presented. The fuzzy random reliability of structures is defined on the basis of fuzzy measure and fuzzy integral. Further, by using fuzzy random variables, the fuzzy random failure function of structures is defined, and the fuzziness between structural reliable state and failure state is also analyzed. Moreover, the fuzzy random limit state equation of structures is built, the probability calculation method of structural reliability under the reliable level alpha is given. Finally, the calculation procedures of structural fuzzy random reliability is proposed. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
