(Chemical Equation Presented) Taking on a second job: Nickel catalyzes the three-component coupling of arynes, alkenes, and boronic acids in very high yields under mild conditions. The boronic acid also acts as the proton source in this reaction. cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene. © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
