Do elderly systolic heart failure patients benefit from beta blockers to the same extent as the non-elderly?: Meta-analysis of >12,000 patients in large-scale clinical trials

摘要：
A meta-analysis of all-cause mortality data involving elderly and non-elderly chronic heart failure patients from 5 completed beta-blocker trials revealed that elderly and non-elderly chronic heart failure patients derived considerable prognostic benefit from beta-blacker therapy without a statistically significant difference in mortality reduction between the 2 groups.
