摘要
This paper presents the use of a wave propagation approach combined with a genetic algorithm for transverse crack detection in cantilever rod. For modelling the cracked rod a new type of a rod spectral finite element with a transverse open and non-propagating crack is applied. A genetic algorithm method for determination of the crack location and size is also described. The objective function utilised by the genetic algorithm is based on differences between measured and calculated dynamic responses in the frequency domain.
